Swim-Up Bar Design Guide
A swim-up bar that looks great in a design rendering and one that's actually comfortable to use for an hour are not automatically the same thing. Kingwood Service Association deed restrictions include tree-preservation requirements that are reviewed before a pool footprint is set, on top of standard village-level approvals.

Depth and Seating
A swim-up bar needs a shallow shelf, typically in the 18-30 inch range, with submerged stools or a built-in bench, deep enough to feel like part of the pool, shallow enough that sitting at the bar for a while is actually comfortable rather than awkward.
What It Adds to Construction
Only gunite construction realistically supports a fully custom swim-up bar shelf and stool placement; it also usually means running water and sometimes electrical to the bar top, which is planned during design, not added after the shell is poured.
